I. Free Seminar

In appreciation to all my loyal readers, I want to offer a free
seminar sometime in October. It would probably be in the
evening and would be done via telephone bridge line so you
you won’t be limited by geography.

The only problem is, I’m not sure what would be the best topic.
Here are some possibilities:
I. Motivation for weight loss and exercise.
II. Overcoming procrastination.
III. Setting reachable goals for 2003.

If any or all of these topics interest you, contact me at
drhibbs@drhibbs.com. Whatever topic generates the greatest
interest will be the “winner,” so vote early and vote often!

II: Article: “A word that can change your life.”

I’m going to share my secret word with you. It helps combat
discouragement and turns potentially disastrous days into
productive ones. It’s good for your health, your self-esteem,
and can make you a better person. It can even put money in your
pocket. The secret word is “Nevertheless.” Here’s how I use it.

+“I’m tired and I’ve earned the right to goof off. Nevertheless,
I can get a few more things done and then relax.”

+“It’s very cold outside and I really don’t feel like walking
today. Nevertheless, it’s very important that I walk so I’m
going to do it anyway.”

+“I have every right to resent that person and hold a grudge.
Nevertheless, I will feel better if I let go of the resentment
and forgive him.”

+“I’m upset and ice cream is my comfort food. Nevertheless, I
will find a better way to deal with my feelings.”

+“I have every reason to just give up. Nevertheless, I’m going
to keep on keeping on.”

Do you see how powerful that word is? It allows us to pause and
realize that we always have choices. There are always a lot of
reasons (or excuses) to do what’s unhealthy, unproductive, or
morally questionable. Nevertheless, we can always choose to do
the right thing.
