It has been almost two months since my last newsletter.
I don’t like going so long between issues, but I have been
preoccupied on two fronts. First, there has been a
significant increase in referrals to my clinical practice.
Secondly, we recently moved into a new home. This fulfills
a long-standing dream, so I feel very blessed and thankful.
Nevertheless, if you have ever moved, you know how
disruptive it can be to one’s normal routine. I
suspect that we will be living out of boxes for some time.
Actually, getting this new house illustrates an important
principle of success. If you have a goal, it’s essential
that you write it down. My wife and I started dreaming
of a new home about fives years ago. We knew the location
we wanted and what we wanted the house to look like. The
key is that we didn’t just think about it, we wrote it down!
However, if the truth be known, I didn’t really believe
we could do it. A realistic assessment of our financial
situation at that time made it seem very unlikely that we
would ever reach our goal. But we wrote it down anyway
and today we live in a lovely new home.
So if you have a dream, let me urge you to write it down
and attach a date to it. Until you do that, it’s not a
goal. It’s just a fantasy.
We’ll that’s all for now. I need to unpack a few more
boxes.
